Five Cosmonauts to Meet with Kaluga Residents at the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival

From April 12 to 16, Kaluga will host the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival. This year, it is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s birth, as well as to Russian and Soviet cosmonauts.

The festival includes film screenings, lectures, master classes, performances, exhibitions, and creative meetings, including meetings with active cosmonauts. Five such meetings will take place at the Educational Center of the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky.

On April 13 at 3:30 PM, Hero of Russia and Russian Federation cosmonaut Anna Kikina will meet with festival guests. She was recently awarded the title of Hero of Russia on April 3 for courage and heroism demonstrated during a long-term space mission on the ISS. At 6:00 PM, there will be a meeting with Hero of Russia and Russian Federation cosmonaut Sergey Prokopyev.

On April 15 at 3:00 PM, Roscosmos cosmonaut test pilot Dmitry Petelin will inspire Kaluga residents with his experiences. At 6:00 PM, Hero of Russia and Russian Federation cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev will hold a discussion at the Educational Center.

On April 16, the final day of the Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival, Hero of Russia, Russian Federation cosmonaut, and festival jury member Anton Shkaplerov will share his journey to the stars.

Attendance at the events of the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival is free, with prior registration required on the website space-fest.ru. To do so, visitors must go to the “Festival Programs” section, select a screening or meeting, receive an SMS with a unique code, present the code at the festival press center at the Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, and receive a paper ticket. Ticket distribution will take place from April 10 to April 16, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival in 2024 is held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, State Corporation "Roscosmos," Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Research Institute, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Government and Ministry of Culture of the Kaluga Region, the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky, the Association of Russian Planetariums, and other public and commercial organizations. The festival’s media partners are Roscosmos Media and TRK NIKA.
