On May 23, a special award ceremony for the winners of the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival took place at the Representative Office of the Kaluga Region Government under the Government of the Russian Federation in Moscow.
The festival was held from April 12 to 16 in Kaluga and the Kaluga Region under the leadership of People's Artist of Russia Igor Ugolnikov. The main venue was the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K. Tsiolkovsky. This year, the competition program featured around 100 films from 30 countries, with the best films announced on the final day of the festival during the closing ceremony and press conference.
The festival’s partner, the watchmaking company Russian Time, prepared special prizes - watches from a collection developed in collaboration with Hero of the Russian Federation, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, designed for his mission to the ISS and spacewalk. Last Thursday, Oleg Novitsky personally presented these watches to the winners of the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival.

Festival President, People's Artist of Russia Igor Ugolnikov, reminded the audience that the festival hosts competitions in feature films, documentaries, animation, and full-dome films, awarding four Grand Prix: Tsiolkovsky, Korolev, Klushantsev, and Gagarin - the latter being introduced this year and awarded for the first time.
Igor Ugolnikov also expressed his gratitude to Vladimir Potyomkin, Deputy Governor of the Kaluga Region and Head of the Kaluga Region Representative Office under the Government of the Russian Federation, for supporting the festival and providing the opportunity to hold the award ceremony in this unique venue.

Tsiolkovsky.

“TASS was the first to announce to the entire world that Yuri Gagarin had flown into space. To this day, TASS remains closely connected to space exploration; we work closely with Roscosmos, and every ISS crew rotation includes a TASS correspondent,” said Kondrashov.
Vladlen Nevzorov, General Director of Russian Time, shared with the guests why the company began making watches for cosmonauts and what makes Oleg Novitsky’s timepiece unique. Each year, Russian Time supports the Tsiolkovsky Film Festival by preparing exclusive prizes for its participants.
