SPACE. STARS. OPINIONS. Sergey Safronov

Sergey Safronov, an illusionist, actor, screenwriter, a world record holder for the levitation of seven people together with his brothers, shared his thoughts on space, exclusively for the ‘SPACE.STARS.OPINIONS’ festival section.

The role of Tsiolkovsky – not only for us, but for the mankind, - is the discovery of the unknown, endless world of space; we didn’t yet learn much about it and don’t have much understanding of it. Our imagination allows us to create more and more new worlds.

When I got to visit the Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, I had an impression that I had a look into Tsiolkovsky’s genius mind! We went on a journey not just through the museum, but through his head, seeing all the inventions and technologies that he had come up with and that are still used. People are yet to create something grander! For us, such geniuses as Tsiolkovsky and Tesla are the people who, in the last century, created something that will be used for centuries ahead.

It is a big dream of ours to play a role in a space adventure film or in a space blockbuster. Three cosmonauts go into space towards adventures and unknown planets! I think it’s the dream of every boy, every girl, every child and probably every adult. I even had an idea of a TV show that takes place somewhere on the Moon. So, you can go ask around and see that playing a role in a space film and flying into the magical, fantastic space is anyone’s dream, and we are not an exception.

The Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival will be held in Kaluga on April 12-16, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Roscosmos State Corporation, the Kaluga Region Government and the Ministry of Culture, Rossotrudnichestvo, the K.E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, the Association of Planetariums of Russia and other public and commercial organizations.
