SPACE. STARS. OPINIONS. EVGENY DYATLOV

Evgeny Dyatlov, a theater and film actor and a musician, shared his thoughts about the significance of space for his life and cinematography in the «SPACE. STARS. OPINIONS» festival section.

✨«Cosmos is something that goes beyond the understanding of space and time. It is beyond our understanding of the scale and dimensions of our universe. This is a great mystery, for me as well.

I would really love elaborate on this idea with Kant’s, a famous philosopher’s words: «Two things fill the mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe, the more often and steadily we reflect upon them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me.»

✨✨As a child, I dreamed of becoming either a professional boxer or a singer. Cosmonauts belonged to another world, heroic but really distant.

✨✨✨I perfectly understand what an extensive work it is to tell about cosmonauts’ feats in cinematography.

I have watched a lot of films shot by both Russian and foreign cinematographers about them, this is quite enough for me: I do not feel like challenging myself with a space flight. In this perspective, I like being just a gawker, observing, learning about new things coming up. Some things amaze me, others make me laugh and some - fascinate me.»

The Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival will be held in Kaluga on April 12-16, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Roscosmos State Corporation, the Government and the Ministry of Culture of the Kaluga Region, Rossotrudnichestvo, the K.E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, The Russian Planetariums Association and other public and commercial organizations.
