Jury Announced for the VI Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival

The Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival will launch on April 12 in Kaluga. More than 2,000 filmmakers from 120 countries have submitted their works to the festival’s competition. The program features 100 films from 25 countries, and the jury faces a challenging task: selecting the winners in 12 categories.

This year’s jury includes professional filmmakers, musicians, and media representatives from Russia, China, and Kazakhstan.

The permanent chair of the jury is Natalia Abakumova, Director of the festival’s main venue, the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K. Tsiolkovsky, First Vice President of the All-Russian Public Organization “Association of Cosmonautics Museums of Russia” (AMKOS), and a member of the Public Council of the State Corporation “Roscosmos.”

Producer, film director, screenwriter, Honored Artist of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation. Artistic Director of the film company “Sakhafilm.”

Yuri Poteyenko (Russia)
Composer, arranger, choral conductor, music teacher, actor. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

But that’s not all! For the first time, the festival has established an expert council of cosmonauts, which includes:

The work of the expert council will result in selecting the winner of a new category - Cosmonauts’ Choice.
The Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival is held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Government and Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Kaluga Region. Festival partners include State Corporation “Roscosmos,” Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Research Institute, the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, and other public and commercial organizations.

The festival’s key media partner is TASS, supported by media partnerships from Roscosmos Media and TRK “Nika.”
