The Opening Film of the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival Screened in Obninsk – Embracing the World

A member of the organizing committee and scientific consultant of the Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival, Candidate of Technical Sciences Oleg Komissar, introduced the festival to the audience at the Central Library of Kaluga’s science hub. He spoke about the origins of the forum, the competition categories, and the festival venues. As a reminder, the main venue remains the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K. Tsiolkovsky.

Residents of Obninsk showed great interest in the festival’s program, particularly in the films, lectures by scientists, and creative meetings with cosmonauts, actors, and directors. They expressed a desire to see more festival films screened in local cinemas.
The meeting, organized with the support of the Russian Society “Znanie”, concluded with a screening of the new documentary about Yuri Gagarin - Embracing the World. The film premiered at the opening of the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival and received an award from State Corporation “Roscosmos”. It was produced by ANO “9 May” with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
The 2024 Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival was held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, State Corporation “Roscosmos,” the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Research Institute, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Government and Ministry of Culture of the Kaluga Region, the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky, the Association of Planetariums of Russia, and other public and commercial organizations.

The festival’s key media partner was TASS, with additional media support from Roscosmos Media and TRK “Nika”.
