Hero of Russia, Cosmonaut Anna Kikina Meets with the Audience of the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival

On April 3, cosmonaut Anna Kikina was awarded the title of Hero of Russia for her courage and heroism demonstrated during her long-duration spaceflight to the International Space Station (ISS).

During her meeting with the festival’s guests, Anna Yuryevna noted that receiving such an honorary title came as a surprise to her, as did the fact that her first spaceflight would take place not aboard the familiar Soyuz spacecraft, but on the American Crew Dragon. The cosmonaut spent 157 days on the ISS - from October 5, 2022, to March 12, 2023.

Anna Kikina shared that she hopes to take part in a spacewalk in the future and expressed her desire to be assigned such a mission. She also spoke about her fears before the flight, explained how tears in microgravity gather in the corners of the eyes, and debunked the myth that cosmonauts tend to drop mugs and other objects upon their return to Earth.

We congratulate Anna Kikina on receiving the title of Hero of Russia and wish her new achievements in space!
