This year, Kaluga will host the VI Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival. From April 12 to 16, residents and visitors will enjoy film screenings, lectures, master classes, and creative meetings with cosmonauts, writers, and filmmakers. As in previous years, the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics will serve as the festival’s main venue.
The Grand Prix of the Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival is named after Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, the scientist and pioneer of modern cosmonautics. Winners in various categories also receive the Korolev and Gagarin Grand Prix awards, while the Klushantsev Grand Prix is presented for outstanding technical achievements and special effects. Additionally, special prizes include the Festival President’s Prize, the Roscosmos State Corporation Prize, the Governor of the Kaluga Region’s Prize, and the Prize from the City of Kaluga.
A new award has been introduced this year by Russian Time Watch Manufacturer, a long-time festival partner. Each year, the company presents festival winners with watches from a special collection. This year, an additional prize will be awarded, dedicated to the first human spacewalk.
The new prize is a table clock featuring a marble base and a cosmonaut figurine. Behind the cosmonaut's helmet visor, one might recognize Alexei Leonov, the first person in history to conduct a spacewalk. The recipient of this special award will be determined by Vladlen Nevzorov, General Director of Russian Time.
The Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival is held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the Government and Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Kaluga Region. Festival partners include State Corporation "Roscosmos," the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Research Institute, Rossotrudnichestvo, the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, and other public and commercial organizations.
The festival’s key media partner is TASS, supported by media partnerships with Roscosmos Media and TRK "Nika".
