Preparations are in full swing for the show “Forward, to the Stars!” inspired by the heroic symphonic and choral epic “We Are the First!”

On April 13, the Grand Atrium of the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics will host the main musical event of the Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival - the unique show “Forward, to the Stars!” by composer and conductor, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Pavel Ovsyannikov. The performance for symphonic orchestra and academic choir tells the story of Yuri Gagarin’s life, as well as the achievements of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and Sergey Korolev.

All musical and choreographic ensembles of the Kaluga Regional Philharmonic are involved in the production, including the S.T. Richter Symphony Orchestra. Rehearsals for the musical performance inspired by the heroic epic “We Are the First!” are currently in full swing.

The artists are working under the guidance of the creator of the heroic epic, composer and conductor, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Pavel Ovsyannikov; stage director and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Galina Vlasenok; and artistic director and chief conductor of the Governor’s Wind Orchestra, Honored Artist of the Kaluga Region Sergey Orlov.

The sound of the symphonic and wind orchestras combined with soloists creates a unique atmosphere and gives the show “Forward, to the Stars!” an epic scale, immersing the audience in the world of cosmic discoveries and heroic accomplishments.
Elena Terebilenko, Artistic Director of the Academic Dance Ensemble of the Kaluga Regional Philharmonic and Honored Cultural Worker of the Region, is working with the performers on the choreographic component of the production.
The show by composer and conductor, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Pavel Ovsyannikov, is based on the heroic symphonic and choral epic “We Are the First!” It encapsulates the life story of the first cosmonaut of Earth, Yuri Gagarin, and a whole era of space exploration achievements made by the outstanding scientists Tsiolkovsky and Korolev.

The Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival and the show “Forward, to the Stars!” are held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
