Largely thanks to this support, the first proper Space Film Festival was held with great success, all planned film screenings, creative meetings, master classes and special events were held as well. Eleven films were awarded with Festival Prizes and Awards, and the total number of viewers was more than five thousand people.
From April 12 to 16, 2022, Kaluga will host the third season of the Festival – and again, as a year ago, Roscosmos State Space Corporation will become one of its general partners.
In addition to the traditional programme of unique documentaries and the organization of meetings with cosmonauts and representatives of the space industry, this time, a whole festival day will be devoted to special events and presentations prepared in partnership with the corporation! "Roscosmos Day" should become one of the brightest and most memorable events of the festival.
Moreover, TV Roskosmos, engaged in the production and promotion of documentaries that highlight current and historical events of the space industry in Russia and abroad, will prepare informational broadcasts in partnership with NIKA broadcasting company – Diaries of the Festival, announcements, interviews with the organizers, guests and participants of the festival.
Igor Ugolnikov, President of the Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival:
"According to many sociologists, space and the difficult path to its exploration is one of the few truly consolidating ideas in our society. People of all generations, with different education, professions, attitude to life experience similar feelings when they look at the sky full of stars, read news about space programmes, go to the cinema to watch space films. Such a significant partnership with Roscosmos allows us both to present unique documentary films to the audience, and to complement the festival programme with meetings and conversations with real industry professionals. Not just to show a movie, but to draw parallels with real events, real science and outstanding achievements, which Roscosmos, celebrating its thirtieth anniversary on February 25, 2022, had a lot!"
The Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival will be held thanks to a grant from the President of the Russian Federation provided by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives. With the support of the Kaluga Region Government, Kaluga City Administration, commercial and public organizations. TASS is the main media partner of the Film Festival.
