The documentary film Embracing the World by Anna Filippova has been selected for the competition program at the Veracruz Short Film Festival, an international short film festival in Mexico. Alongside the Russian film about the first cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, six other short documentaries from filmmakers in France, Chile, the United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico, and Ecuador will be presented in this category. The festival will take place in Guanajuato from August 22 to 25.
Embracing the World was recognized as the best short documentary at the Kollywood Film Festival in India and received the Roscosmos Award at the V Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival. The film was released in honor of Yuri Gagarin’s 90th anniversary, opened our festival on April 12, and has been translated into Spanish and English.
The film was produced by ANO "9 May" with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, State Corporation "Roscosmos," the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Research Institute, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Ethnographic Park-Museum "ETNOMIR," and the International Fund "Dialogue of Cultures - One World."
